As we begin the new year, our teams are working diligently to complete our open construction projects. Anticipation is building as we start our 2024 fiber builds. Despite the challenges winter weather presents, we have positioned ourselves to continue the momentum of converting our customers to fiber optic service throughout the winter months. The foundation annually awards scholarships to an exceptional group of rural students for their first year of college or vocational school. FRS has awarded over $1 million in scholarships since its inception, empowering rural students throughout the country to advance their communities with invaluable skill sets and experiences. All applicants require sponsorship by an NTCA — The Rural Broadband Association member company, which includes WCVT. As your local telecommunications service provider, it’s our pleasure to offer this national scholarship program in our service area. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior and an active customer or whose parents or legal guardian are active customers of WCVT and reside full-time in the WCVT service area. ![]() WCVT Giving Tree Each year, Waitsfield and Champlain Valley Telecom spreads holiday cheer through the company's Annual Giving Tree. Gifts are donated by employees, customers, and the company's Contribution Committee to help fulfil the wishes and needs of 400-500 children in our serving area. Thank you to everyone who donated gifts and volunteered to make this program a success. ![]() A Day of Giving Back Waitsfield and Champlain Valley Telecom (WCVT) recognizes the importance of being good neighbors. We proudly donate generously to organizations through our Contributions Committee. The Contributions Committee consists of a group of employees, who review and assess requests for financial support with the mission of assisting non-profit organizations in the areas of health, education, and community service. Last month a group of committee members volunteered and spent the day shopping for much needed supplies to support the Good Samaritan Haven in Barre. | Martin Luther King Jr. Day Torchlight Parade & Fireworks - January 14th - Sugarbush Resort Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a special fireworks display and torchlight parade held at Sugarbush Resort. Babe Force: Carving and Waxing - January 11th - Bolton Valley Resort Join us for a 3-hour clinic where we teach intermediate to advanced female skiers and snowboarders how to carve on their planks during the first half, and how to properly wax your skis/snowboard during the second half.
