Truck
As we welcome the vibrant days of spring (and snow) here in Vermont, we're gearing up for a breathtaking solar eclipse next week! Vermont lies in the path of totality, promising us a front-row seat to this amazing event. Please note that the state of Vermont has asked that we keep our trucks off the road, so our offices will be closed on Monday, April 8th. With that excitement in mind, I wanted to provide a brief update on our fiber construction projects.

Our crews have been working hard to bring fiber throughout our serving area and many of our 2024 construction projects are well underway. If you are included in one of our build areas scheduled for this year, we will be reaching out to let you know that fiber is coming to your location as our construction progresses. In addition, to help keep you updated on our fiber builds, please visit getfiber.wcvt.com. You can also access the address search directly on our www.wcvt.com website.

Just a reminder that in addition to our technicians, you may see our contractors working in your area. We use multiple contractors for field collection, engineering, line construction, aerial drops and buried service work. The following contractors are currently working in our area: Eustis Cable Enterprises, JA McDonald, JSI, and Menard and Sons.

Building a fiber-to-the-home network in rural areas takes time to engineer, construct and build. While we can't get to everyone overnight, we will continue to work hard in expanding our fiber-optic network throughout our service area. Thank you for being a customer of Waitsfield and Champlain Valley Telecom.

Sincerely,

Eric Haskin

Afforable Connectivity Program
Important Information for Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) Participants

The FCC has announced that April 2024 will be the last fully funded month for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). If you are a current participant in the ACP, it is crucial for you to be aware of following:
  • After the ACP funds run out (April 2024), you will no longer receive the ACP discount of $30.00. The last monthly bill to include ACP benefit will be your April invoice.
  • Loss of ACP credit will increase broadband internet service by $30.00 starting with your May invoice.
  • Please note, your service will remain at the existing service level at the full undiscounted price when the ACP credit is no longer available.
  • To offset the increase in your bill, you may adjust your internet service to a lower cost plan. You may also check your eligibility for other federal low-income plans or opt out of the service at the end of the ACP funding.
  • For additional information regarding the ACP, please go to: FCC Affordable Connectivity Program Wind-Down.
Please visit our website for information on our available broadband options. You may also contact our Customer Service Department at 802-496-3391 with any questions, discuss service option plans, or opt out of your service.

Egg Hunt
Community Easter Egg Hunt a Hopping Success!

Our annual community Easter Egg Hunt was held on Saturday, March 30th at the Mad River Valley Recreation Fields under beautiful sunny skies. This year, Mother Nature threw us a curveball, resulting in the first postponement in 28 years due to a late-season snowstorm. Despite having to reschedule, over 200 Valley residents joined in the fun. Children of all ages came out to fill their baskets with goodies and had the opportunity to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

We extend a special thank you to the Mad River Valley Recreation Department for their partnership in this event and to the dedicated employees of WCVT Company who volunteered their time to ensure its success.
